The Department of Health and Human Sciences at the University of Essex invites applications for a three-year PhD scholarship starting in October 2007. The successful applicant will receive an annual allowance towards tuition fees and maintenance, of up to £10,000 for full-time study. Subject to work permit requirements, you will be permitted to undertake some paid employment by mutual agreement.

The University's Department of Health and Human Sciences has an excellent reputation for research and teaching in health and social care. In the 2001 UK Research Assessment Exercise, our research was submitted with the Department of Sociology which achieved the highest possible rating of 6.
