PhD in Economics and Finance Scholarship 
The Department of Economics invites applications for
four vacant PhD scholarships within the following
research areas:

Applied economics (one scholarship)
-
Corporate governance/corporat e finance (one
scholarship)
-
Energy economics (two scholarships)
The scholarships within corporate governance/finance and
energy economics are related to specific grants from the
Danish Social Science Research Council. The scholarship
on corporate governance/finance is embedded in a
research project entitled "Families and Firms: The
impact of family risk and organization on the governance
of closely held corporations" , directed by Prof. Morten
Bennedsen mb.eco@cbs.dk
The
scholarships on energy economics are embedded in a
research project entitled "Risky Power: Choice of
technology, security of supply, and market power in
power markets", directed by Prof. Peter Møllgaard
(hpm.eco@cbs.dk

The scholarship in applied economics should follow
within the main research themes of research of the
department, i.e. Macroeconomics and Economic Policy,
International Economics and Applied Microeconomics (in
particular industrial economics and competition policy;
corporate governance, tax policy, venture capital and
behavioural economics & finance).

General information:
To be awarded a scholarship, one must be enrolled as a
PhD student. Enrolment is dependent on the acceptance of
an application, including a short project description
prepared in co-operation with a member of the scientific
staff at the Department. The description of the research
project should contain a presentation of the intended
focus problems, including the theory and methodology
expected to be used.
A PhD scholarship runs for a period of 3 years and is
only awarded to applicants with a Master`s degree.
The scholarship stipulates that the holder carry out
tasks equivalent to 840 work hours.
Salary and appointment as a PhD student will be in
accordance with the Ministry of Finance`s agreement with
the Central Academic Organisation.
In addition to the short project description, applicants
must submit an application that includes a completed
compulsory application form, a brief resumé (CV), and if
relevant a list of papers and publications. In the
application, please indicate which of the three PhD
scholarships you apply for and indicate a ranking if all
three are of interest.
A committee of experts in the field in question will
consider all applications. Assessment of the applicants
will be based on the quality and relevance of the
project, including an evaluation of the applicant`s
ability to accomplish it.
If it is not stated elsewhere the application must be
submitted in triplicate.
